Rosie Germanium - Limited Copper Edition
Sorry, this product is temporarily out of stock.
There may be no finer fuzz circuit in pedal history than the Tone Bender MKII. After the original Tone Bender came out, modeled after a Maestro FZ-1, there were some kinks to be ironed out, and the result was the Sola Sound classic that was used on too many classic records to list. Our Custom Shop Copper Germanium Rosie preserves that lineage and then some.
There's one key word to any Tone Bender MKII circuit, and that word is "germanium." This limited version of the Rosie, clad in a 1/4lb of brushed copper plate has that in spades, featuring Tesla-branded germanium transistors that have been hand-matched to ensure the sweetest tone. This sweetness is only made possible by testing, combining and harnessing the potency of old germanium parts. The Tone Bender MKII has it, and the Custom Shop Rosie has it. Simple.
Old fuzz pedals have a consistency problem that usually has to do with the transistor bias and the room temperature. Even the old Sola Sound-built Tone Bender MKIIs suffer from this. Thankfully, we've included a Bias control that lets you set the voicing of the Rosie for yourself. You can change the bass content of the Rosie with a toggle switch between classic lead fuzz sounds and a tighter, slightly cleaner fuzz tone that pairs exceptionally well with drives or crunchy amps.
Those of you who run germanium fuzzes and wah pedals have encountered the age-old problem of effect placement. Back when Tone Bender MKIIs were still being built, this wasn't much of an issue, but now, there is plenty to chance. The Rosie eliminates compatibility issues by equipping the front end with a JFET input that ends the guesswork.
If Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page tone is what you're after, you'd be hard pressed to find a better option than the Custom Shop Copper Germanium Rosie. With a custom copper plate that's as sexy as the guts, we've given the original Tone Bender MKII a whole lotta lovin'.
